Exactly today (1st April, 2025) marks 48 years since Pa Samuel Babajide (Baba-Sukulubi) departed to be with his maker. He was a merchant par excellence, a great community leader, and a progressive society man. Baba-Sukulubi was generous, friendly, and passionate about the progress of his town (Ipoti-Ekiti) & Ekiti as a whole.
As a successful entrepreneur, his business empire stretched from Ipoti-Ekiti to Ikun-Ekiti, Oshogbo in Osun State, and his commercial activities would not be complete without mentioning Idumota in Lagos. He was known for his mercantile acumen in Ipoti-Ekiti. His cocoa plantations in Ipoti-Ekiti a testament to his agro-allied businesses.
We remember you today, a man whose spirit was as bright as the sun. He was known for his unwavering kindness and his ability to see the best in everyone. He was a true role model, a man of integrity, and a pillar of strength. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. Your memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
